You Can Now Use Venmo to Pay on Topper

We’re excited to announce that Venmo is now live as a payment method on Topper, making it easy for U.S. accounts to buy crypto.

Whether you’re building your first portfolio or looking to diversify your holdings, you can now pay with Venmo to fund purchases of Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and over 250 other digital assets through Topper.

What is Venmo?

Venmo is a popular peer-to-peer payment app used by more than 90 million active accounts in the U.S. to split bills, pay friends, and shop online. It’s fast, familiar, and easy to use. Now, it’s also a way to access crypto through Topper.

You can fund your crypto purchase using the balance, bank account, or debit card already linked to your Venmo account - no new payment setup is required.

The first time you choose Venmo as your payment method, you’ll be redirected to the Venmo app to authorize the connection. After that, Venmo will be integrated into your Topper checkout experience.

How It Works

How to Link a Venmo Account to Topper:

1. Go to Topper and start a new Buy order.
2. Select Venmo as your payment method.
3. Review your order on the Review Order screen.
4. Select Buy with Venmo. Topper will open your Venmo app.
5. Log in with your Venmo credentials.
6. Select the funding source you want Topper to use (balance, linked bank, or debit card). Topper will save your Venmo details so you can use it easily next time.
7. Review and approve the payment in the Venmo window. You’ll be automatically taken back to Topper, where your Venmo account will appear as a saved payment method.

The Venmo account you link is connected to the specific funding source (bank, card, or balance) you selected. To use a different one, you’ll need to unlink Venmo in Topper and go through the steps again.

How to Buy Crypto Using Venmo

1. Go to Topper and start a new Buy order.
2. Choose Venmo under Payment methods.
3. Confirm the funding source, order amount, and network fees.
4. Click Venmo. Topper processes the transaction.

How to Unlink a Venmo Account to Topper

1. Go to the Preferences Center.
2. Select Payment methods.
3. Find the Venmo entry (only one Venmo account can be stored per Topper account).
4. Tap the ⋮ (three dots) and choose Disconnect account (red).
5. Confirm. Your Venmo account will be removed from Topper.

Now you can either link a different Venmo account or re-link the same one with a new funding source.
